| Review: | Unfortunately, no matter how much we want to write a good review -Israeli cuisine is supposed to be simple, tasty, and plentiful- this is NOT the place. The service would be fine if it was not for a so called manager rude as can be, absolutely ignorant of the basic relationship one ought to have with clients. The food is a disgrace, so expensive it's almost unbelievable. I spent many years in Israel, never in my life have I seen an Israeli salad like the one served to me there. A few sticks of cucumber and a few sticks of tomato, served in an oval plate that you can barely see due to its ridiculous size, and this for the bargain price of 6 pounds! Not to mention the eggplant salad; feels it's directly been scooped out of a on-the-shelf Yarden box. I went there twice. The fisrt time I thought it was acceptable (HUMMUS AND PITA with a coke don't take much of expertise)but very expensive, the second time I was outraged by what I had been told and left the restaurant having paid 16 pounds for a coke, an Israeli salad and an Eggplant salad, cancelling the rest of the order. |

| Review: | OK - So Sollys is just as good as it was 10 years ago. Especially the Sollys special providing you prefer the more tender chicken thighs as a steak as opposed to breast. Food wise, its very good for Israeli style and prices although not cheap are reasonable compared to the Whitehouse which offers similar food. What I dont understand is since they had a fire nearly 2 years ago, they are apparently still waiting for the credit card machine to come. Come on - we live in the year 2009 - it takes 2 weeks to get a credit card machine, not 2 years. Sounds dodgy to me. Beware if you only have a credit card as you will be made to walk to the ATM a few doors down to pay. |
