Review: Had disappointing meal this week with some friends. Have visited several times before but think standard of food has gone down - it tasted like greasy fast food but at much higher prices. Decor is great and waiter was pleasant and helpful ... the customer survey that came on the screen at the end of our meal was a joke. There was no opportunity to express how we had found our experience; it was really a sales pitch to use the venue for corporate events and simcha function. Disappointing experience.

Review: Went with about 11 people setting very nice and food not bad.
That is where it ends, the service was terrible we ordered our food and was told about 20 minutes later some of the items were not available. Food came at different times with the first served finishing before the last served.
The staff needs training in customer relations.

Review: The restaurant has recently been refurbished with drapes on the ceiling and walls in red and black with Moroccan lamps hanging from the ceiling and palm trees throughout, designed and fitted by an experienced interior designed who once worked for Harrods I'm reliably informed.

The food is tasty, generous and great value for money, I very much enjoyed it there and look forward to holding a private party there as I cannot think of a better kosher venue.

Review: As usual, extremely unhelpful and confused service but this seems to be normal for kosher food. The new lamb shishlick is pretty good if you get in a pitta or lafa. Get one in a pitta for less than a fiver so good value (and tastes better than the shawarma as you get the full charcoal flavour). Atmosphere is only good if you have a couple of drinks at the bar while waiting for meal as to be sober and eat there is not a good experience.

All in all in general, food is OK. 7 out of 10.

Review: Having eaten in many different establishments, I felt that this was the only one in the area worth commenting on. The chicken meal deal was especially nice, filling, tasty and very good value for money. I particularly liked the fact that I could order an alcoholic drink while I decided what to order. Keep up the good work!

Review: Worth coming all the way from GG for the atmosphere, food and drinks. Chicken nuggets were particularly good! Drinks slightly more expensive than an average pub though.

Review: Terrible experience. I ordered shwarama with rice and asked to choose my salads. Owner assured me that anything can be done. I was served only with rice and shwarama. The dish was salty. When I asked the owner about the salads she said it would be an extra £6 to choose up to four salads. I told her I will see if it is necessary. It wasn't. Service is non existent. I asked for a jug of water no less than four times. The waiter just ignored me and continued to wipe down the table near to me. Hopeless.

Establishment Reply - 09/03/2009:
Regarding this review, the shwarama recipe changed in mid January and is since not salty and much improved. Regarding the extra £6 for the salads, the customer should have made clear that instead of a double portion of rice that he wanted one portion of rice and one of salad as the dish comes with two side dishes, anything extra is chargeable. As for the jug of water the error was down to short staff on that occasion, the staff members have since changed and the service improved.

Review: Seeing as The White Bear was a pub I had quite an affinity to when it was around, it felt weird walking into the same building and ordering a chicken sandwich. Luckily, this overwhelming sensation was quelled when I was served by a the restaurant's pleasant hosts, Gila and Gil. The level of restaurant-customer friendliness in Fernando's is higher than at most kosher restaurants in North West London and it certainly enriches the dining experience.

I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and chips. The sandwich was cooked to perfection, not too much salad. The chips had a tremendous crisp-smooth ratio and the array of relishes and sauces was exceedingly tasty (especially the chilli/tomato relish!)

The price was reasonable for what I received, which was a healthy portion and it was really a pleasure to be able to have a beer on tap with my meal.

Essentially, Fernando's is a great addition to the neighbourhood. The convenience of customer parking, great food, wonderful service and beer on tap leads me to giving it a 5 star rating all the way.
