Review:	I eat at the whitehouse regularly and I must say that in the last year I have been VERY disappointed. 1. If you try to order takeaway between 7:30 and 9pm on a busy night expect to be pushed shoved and rudely told that you have to wait 10 minutes for a Shawarma when in fact you end up waiting 30 minutes and everything else you ordered is now cold. 2. The prices have gone up and are ridiculous, especially for eating in. Who wants to pay £25 for a mixed grill that is not cooked to perfection and is hit and miss depending on how busy they are. 3. The Thai menu is a joke. Mixed stirfried veg with a few bits of chicken dropped in for good measure all for £15. Opposite at the non-kosher chinese, the same meal is £3 AND it tastes better and is more generous. How can they charge FIVE times the price for the kosher version? The tiny bit of chicken certainly does not cost five times the next kosher price. [Moderator's Note: We do not in any way promote eating non-kosher food and/or in non-kosher restaurants.] 4. The Shawarma is now poor. It seems they recently changed the recipe (in order to make a higher profit margin no doubt), while in the past it was all Lamb, it is now mixed lamb and turkey and dark turkey and what was once the reason why people chose the White House shawarma over Lemonade or Samis is gone. Bring Back the 100% lamb shawarma and I will come back (and so will the scores of other people I know who have stopped going there since the Shawarma became just average).

Review:	When our table of 10 arrived at the restaurant we were assigned speedily to our table - which was great. Getting served, however took a bit more time. The waitress we encountered wasn't exactly tactful when taking our orders and seemed quite impatient. After much deliberation, I decided to order the Chicken Kiev as it had been noted as the biggest portion by the waitress. Among my friends' dishes that I tasted were the Peking Duck and Entrecote steak. The food arrived in good time, and even with such a large table, there wasn't too much time to wait for everyone to have received their meals. The Chicken Kiev was large, as promised and very pleasing to the palate. The portion of chips I received along with the Chicken was quite pleasing too. The Peking Duck was slightly over cooked and the Hoi Sin sauce that accompanied it was a bit too mild. The entrecote was slightly fatty but well flavoured and cooked. Note: the steak comes as a considerably smaller portion than the Chicken Kiev but is more expensive. The atmosphere was enjoyable but I might add that at some points during the meal I could not hear my friends in normal conversation due to the loud acoustics of the room. To conclude, as usual, quite a pleasing trip to a neighbourhood favourite, The White House.
